William Voight
It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Dad and Brother William (Bill) F. Voight, 79, of Pensacola. Bill went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep on February 28, 2018.
Bill was born January 28, 1939 to Margaret Mary Weiss Voight and Harris F. Voight in Pensacola, FL. Bill was married to his loving and devoted wife Cheryl Parker Voight, who precedes him in death last June of 2017.
Bill graduated from Pensacola High School then after, proudly served in the Navy for four years and retired from the Air Force after many years. Bill enjoyed many hobbies which included; Scuba diving, watching football and fishing, reading, Nascar, Traveling, and relaxing with friends and family. Bill was a Shriner as well as an active member of his church which is Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother (Margaret Mary Weiss Voight), Father (Harris F. Voight), and wife (Cheryl Parker Voight).
Bill is survived by both of his children Sharon Voight and Michael Voight. Step children; Susan Maines(John), Karen Phipps, and Bria Carnley(Doug). His brother Donald Voight(Carolyn). Grand Children; Luke Whitley, Mason Maines, Douglas Carnley, Gage Carnley, and Colton Phipps. One nephew Terry Voight and Many friends.
A Celebration of life service will be held, Tuesday March 6, 2018 visitation will be held at 10:00A.M. service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial at 1:00P.M. at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s foundation.
William (Bill) Voight, passed away this past Wednesday 28 February 2018 after a very long battle with Alzheimer's. He served as a Sensor Operator in the 711 SOS for several years before moving into the Intel section to finish out his career and retire in his hometown of Pensacola. Bill, like so many before him, loved being a part of the Duke Family and our Gunship mission. He served the 919th and his country with great pride. Another devoted professional and true friend who will be dearly missed by us all. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
