Obituary

Carter and Connor share their grief with Dustin, (Dusty) and his daughter, Mackinzie. Lyle was also Paw Paw to Emma Kay Henderson, granddaughter and Ethan Brice Pourcillie, grandson of his longtime, (16 years,) significant other, Sandy Kay Hayes. He leaves behind an extended family of Rachel Strickland, Paul and Beverly Pourcille, Paula Pourcille, Lisa McKinney, and Hunner and William McKinney.

Lyle was a Patriot, he served as Quartermaster for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5450 in Crestview and in that supported the many causes held dear to all branches of our country’s military members. In light of that patriotism, the family asks that rather than flowers, a donation be made in Lyle’s honor to The Wounded Warriors Fund or the military cause of your choice. On Thursday, January 19th, full military honors funeral ceremony will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida at 1:00 p.m. Friends, family and all who wish to celebrate his memory and pay respects are invited to attend. Prior to that, a visitation will be on Wednesday the 18th of January from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. open viewing will be held, followed by a memorial beginning at 5:00 p.m.. Crosspoint Church Fellowship Hall on P.J. Adams Parkway in Crestview.

Another Duke Field Icon, Lyle Spangler died of Heart failure around 10:30am last

Tuesday 11 January. We all knew him as one of the top enlisted leaders at Duke who played a major role in advancing many of our core enlisted concerns over the years.

He was a well liked and highly respected member of the 919th SOW who truly did

love the Special Operations mission and its people. Lyle was another very dedicated

member of the Duke Field family who will be dearly missed by us all.
