Obituary

Retired US Air Force MSGT Jackie Aaron "Wormy" Simpson, age 73, died peacefully at Silvercrest Health and Rehabilitative Center in Crestview, Florida.  He was a husband, friend to many and a proud Air Force Veteran.  His love of country and dedication to service followed him throughout his life.  He will be sorely missed. 


MSGT Simpson was born on December 16, 1943, in Fernbank, Alabama, to Louis and Edna Simpson. 

In 1971, he joined the United States Air Force where he was a crew chief on a C-130, traveling all over the world for his country.  


He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Jan Simpson, numerous step children and grandchildren, his sister, Martha Leblanc and so many friends that were dear to his heart. 


Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 16, beginning at 11:00am at New Beginnings Church with 

Pastor Jason Stokes officiating.  A burial with military honors will be at Old Bethel Cemetery following the service.  The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am Thursday, at New beginnings Church.


He worked as a Crew Chief on the flight line for many years before retiring in the Crestview area. He was a "Special Person" who always put others ahead of himself, and was actively involved in most of the Moral and Welfare events at Duke.  

Wormy was another well respected member of the Duke Family who was proud to be a part of the 919th and served it well. He was also a close friend and comrade who will be  missed by all the Duke Field Family. He truly loved the Gunship mission and his Buds!!!
