Jim was born in Euclid, Ohio on January 3, 1936, to Harold Stanley and Genevieve Taylor Marcombe. There he met the love of his wife for 70 years, Wanda Elaine Marcombe while she was selling snow cones in downtown Milton. They ran away and got married when Jim was 18 and Wanda was 16. They settled in Milton and raised 3 children and had a wonderful church family. Jim enjoyed traveling, golfing, and running races. He competed in marathons, half marathons, 10ks and 5ks. He was an avid Ohio State and Auburn fan and loved watching them play every Saturday in the fall.
Jim worked at Monsanto for many years as a machinist and then a Safety Engineer. Before he retired from Monsanto, he began working for Behavior Science Technology (BST) where he worked as a Safety Engineer and traveled the country, often with Wanda accompanying him on these trips. He retired from Monsanto and started full time at BST for several years. He was also in the Air Force Reserves until his retirement on June 6, 1994.
Jim was very active in his local community. He held an office in the priesthood at the Community of Christ Church where he also served as pastor many times over the years. He was active in the church youth camps and escorted the church's youth to the yearly Spectacular Camp in Lamoni, Ohio at Graceland College. He served in many outreach programs while serving the church and mentored many young adults into the church and priesthood. He traveled all over the district preaching sermons and sharing his love and dedication to the Lord. He preached his last sermon in December 2024. He was a volunteer at the USO at Pensacola International Airport. He loved welcoming our military men and women to Pensacola. He was an active member in Kiwanis and served as their President.
