Calvin Hash, 89, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN. He was born in Green Cove, VA on October 24, 1931, a son of the late Abram Harrison and Blanche Lewis Hash. In addition to parents, was preceded in death by wife, Gay Nell Kirk Hash; a brother, Tracy Hash and his wife, Opal; and three nephews, David Hash, Calvin Hash, and Rodger Hash.
He had lived in Crestview, FL for over 40 years before moving to Clarksville, TN. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Chief Master Sergeant, USAF, retired. Previously, he served as a Flight Engineer Instructor on the C-130A model airplane as a Civil Service employee, before becoming Unit Supervisor of Flight Engineers with the 711th, Air Force Special Operations Squadron, located at Duke Field, FL. He was of the Christian Faith.
Calvin is survived by two daughters, Tracie Nisker and Kimberly Sweck; four grandchildren, Jack Sweck, Ashlyn Nisker, Kylee Nisker, and Samantha Sweck; and nephew, Mark Hash.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday, July 30, 2021, at the graveside at Jackson-Lewis Cemetery in Taylor Valley, VA with Pastor Maurice Widener officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and Highlands Veterans Honor Guard. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 am Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Highlands Veterans Honor Guard, 16034 Elementary Drive, Abingdon, VA 24211. CSMgt Calvin Hash, a longtime member of the Duke Family, passed away on Sunday 25 July at the age of 89 in a Senior Healthcare Facility in Clarksville, TN. He came to Duke in the late 70s from Ellington AFB, Tx and worked as a civilian FE Instructor for several years in the Flight Simulator and later became Flight Engineer Supervisor in the 711th SOS where he remained until retirement in the early 1990s. Calvin was a
well respected Supervisor who cared about his people and the Gunship Mission. He served the 919th SOW and his Country with great pride and will be dearly missed by his Duke Field Family and especially his Flight Engineers.
