Bascom "J.R." Ritchie Grant

November 21, 1948 - February 23, 2019

Bascom “J.R.” R. Grant, Jr., 70, of Crestview, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 23, 2019. J.R. was born November 21, 1948, in Monticello, FL, he was a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County. He retired as a CMSGT with the USAF after 27 years of honorable service in 2004, and then worked with Civil Service as a Budget Officer with the 919th until retiring again. He was also a member of the numbered Air Force organization, a life member of the 919th South Fishing Club, the NRA, an FSU Booster member, He was also an Industrial Arts Teacher in DFS and Crestview. J.R. enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, he also liked attending fishing tournaments with Pat, cooking and telling a good long story.

JR is preceded in death by his parents: Bascom R Grant, Sr. and Macy Grant, a brother: William Frederick Grant, and sister: Shirley L. Parker. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Patricia L Grant, two children: Jamie L Grant and Kimberly Elizabeth Grant Boddy (Robert), two granddaughter: Rylee Elizabeth Grant and Carlee Grace Boddy, his cousin Harriet Grant Rock and nephew Chris Parker.

Services will be held Thursday, February 28th from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service, beginning at 2pm with Pastor Dale Walters officiating, the family will receive friends beginning at 1pm at the funeral home. burial Will follow at Live Oak park Memorial Cemetery.
