William "Bill" Daniel Brunson 

September 29, 1934 - September 26, 2018

William D. Brunson (Bill), age 83 passed away peacefully September 26, 2018 after a short battle with kidney failure. Bill was born September 29, 1934 in Baker, Florida and graduated from Baker High School in 1952. Bill married the love of his life, Sylvia Ruch, on March 14, 1958. They made their home in Crestview. They were married for 56 years before Sylvia’s passing in 2014.

Bill is survived by his sister, Judy Griffith, two daughters, Cindy Egan and her husband Joe, Kathy Ray and her husband Tim and granddaughter, Nicole Ray.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Barnett Matthew and Leethey Virginia Brunson, his wife, Sylvia, one brother, Howard Brunson and three sisters, Hazel Mayo, Beatrice Cosson and Corena Lanier.

Bill was the airfield manager at Duke Field for 36 years after serving 4 years in the United States Air Force before retiring in 1993. Faith, family and friends were always the most important things to him. He enjoyed working in his yard and cheering for his beloved Baker Gators.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Brackney Funeral Home in Crestview. The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers, his sister-in-law, Sonja Brunson, Larica Redmond and Addie Johnson and for all the extra care and support they gave Bill and his family.
