James”Jay” Webster Boyd

Graveside services for James “Jay” Webster Boyd, 75, of Fort Walton Beach, FL will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Sartinville Cemetery with Rev. Dan Campbell officiating.

Mr. Boyd passed away at Fort Walton Beach Medial Center on Sunday, July 28, 2019. He was born November 18, 1943 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Ontee and John Boyd. along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his brother John Opal Boyd.

Jay served his country as Master Sergeant in the US Air Force. He retired after 40 years from the Department of Defense Federal Civil Service.

Survivors include aunts Wessie Harvey and Billie Holmes, friends, and loving family.


Jay Boyd, who ran the 919th Maintenance ECM shop for many years in the early days and played a big role in our conversion to the Gunship Mission passed away recently.  After retiring many years ago he moved to Biloxi, MS and remained there taking care of his parents until their passing. He later moved back to the FWB area near his close Duke friends until his recent death following a long and courage battle against Cancer.  Jay was another longtime DedicatedDuke Patriot who will be dearly missed by us all.
