Mary Alberts

28 September 1942 - 7 September 2022

Mary Alberts, 79 loved and adored mother, grandmother, Big Sister, Friend. The sweetest of hearts, went to be at peace amongst the Angels September 7th, 2022.

Mary was born on September 28th, 1942, in Fargo, North Dakota, the eldest child of four to Constantine and Violet. Mary was raised in Moorhead, Minnesota and proudly graduated from Moorhead State Teachers College Campus High School, she went on to attendMoorheadState Teachers College (MSTC), now called Moorhead State University. While involved in her studies, Mary would go on tomeetand marry Darrell Alberts, also a Moorheadnative,whom she often referred to as the most kind and gentle man she has ever met.As a military spouse, she traveled the world gaining a lifetime of culture and knowledge, discovering the value of teaching the English language in other countries and the fulfillment of building a family.

In 1975 Mary continued her path in life and enlisted in the Air Force Reserves, as well as embarking on a fulltime Civil Service Career. An integral member of the 919th SOW at Duke Field, she proudly served and excelled to the rank of Master Sargent. She cherished her time at Duke Field and developed many lifelong friendships along the way. After 28yrs of dedicated service Mary found retirement, but she would not rest there and would continue her passion of Humanitarian Devotion.

Mary valued her country, community, church and humankind. She volunteered countless hours in any way that she could offer her support to the disabled, the homeless, veterans, charitable organizations, Secretary of Friends of the First Lady, Sharing and Caring, & Senior Circle. She was an active member of the, New Bethel Methodist Church of Crestview, FL, The Dogwood Garden Club, Red Hats Society, Friends of the First Lady, AMVETS Post 35, American Legion Post 75, and the VFW Post 5450.

Mary was a strong and courageous breast cancer survivor of over 25yrs, she was proud to advocate, volunteer and donate to The American Cancer Society and the Relay for Life. She was a confidant and friend to many, a soft shoulder to lean on even when she was struggling herself, she was humble.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her significant other of over 30yrs, Russell Chamberlain and she thoroughly loved laughing out loud with her friends. Mary adored her granddaughter she loved all her family. She was proud of their accomplishments, their smiles and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them.

Her Generosity Inspired, Her Laughter Contagious, Her Heart filled with Love.

Proceeded in death by her husband, Darrell Alberts; Parents, Constantine and Violet; and Brother, Conrad Kondos. She is survived by her Significant other and Friend, Russell Chamberlain; Sons: Mark Alberts; David Alberts and Wife, Tammy; and Matthew Alberts; Daughter: Dedee Trueluck and Husband, Cedric; Grandchild, Mary Reagan Alberts; Brothers Christ Kondos and Wife, Nancy; Michael Kondos and Wife, Claudia.
